Aditi Bhattacharjee is a recent graduate of the National Forensic Sciences University, with a Master's in Neuropsychology and a Bachelor's in Applied Psychology. Her interest in human behaviour led her to explore behavioural science through internships with behaviour design firms including 1001 Stories and First Principle Labs. Currently, Aditi is a Research Intern at the Behaviour-informed Design for Development (BiD4D) Lab, IIT Delhi. Her work lies at the intersection of behavioural design and healthcare, where she contributes to research exploring diagnostic decision-making and the factors that influence errors in complex clinical environments.
Geetu Rajak, She/Her

Geetu Rajak is a visual communication designer and a recent graduate in Fashion Communication from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). Her practice focuses on transforming complex ideas into clear, engaging, and meaningful visual experiences through research-driven communication design. As an Intern at the Behaviour-informed Design for Development (BiD4D) Lab, IIT Delhi, she designed a visual system and educational artefact to communicate behavioural design frameworks for pedagogical and training purposes. Her work combined scientific visualization, information architecture, instructional design, and editorial design to develop an accessible guidebook that simplifies complex behavioural concepts for diverse learning audiences.
Mahathi Kuppa, She/Her

Mahathi Kuppa has a background in neuropsychology and is passionate about understanding the relationship between brain function and human behaviour, particularly in complex and dysfunctional contexts. Her experience spans both clinical and research settings, where she has worked with EEG, fNIRS, and GSR-based studies, conducted psychological assessments, and analysed behavioural data using MATLAB, SPSS, JAMOVI, and JASP. Her interests lie at the intersection of cognitive science, psychophysiology, and behavioural research. Alongside research, Mahathi has contributed to science communication and content development, believing that meaningful research should be both rigorous and accessible while translating complex scientific concepts into clear and engaging knowledge.
Deepayan Mukherjee, He/Him

Deepayan Mukherjee is a PhD Scholar in Human-Centered Design at IIIT Delhi with a background in Electronics and Cognitive Science. His research focuses on understanding human cognition, decision-making, and behaviour in complex environments using psychophysiological methods such as EEG, GSR, fMRI, and eye tracking. He has gained research experience through internships at AIIMS, DRDO, and the Behaviour-informed Design for Development (BiD4D) Lab, alongside industry experience at ShareChat and boAt. His interests lie at the intersection of cognitive science, design thinking, and human-centred design, with the goal of developing impactful, evidence-based interventions. Beyond research, he is a trained classical musician, poet, and photographer, bringing creativity and interdisciplinary thinking to both his academic and professional work.
Aniya Jain, She/Her

Aniya Jain is a final-year B.Tech student in Mathematics and Computing at MITS Gwalior, with a strong interest in building data-driven, scalable systems that solve real-world problems. During her internship at the Behaviour-informed Design for Development (BiD4D) Lab, IIT Delhi, she contributed to the development of a digital dashboard designed to strengthen disaster management execution by addressing implementation gaps in the National Disaster Management Plan. Her work focused on backend development using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB, where she built APIs, designed database schemas, and implemented file upload systems. She also contributed to designing task workflows and monitoring mechanisms, translating complex policy challenges into practical, user-centred, and scalable technical solutions.
Manasi Kale, She/Her

Manasi Kale is a neuropsychologist with a strong interest in understanding the complexities of the human brain and the cognitive processes that shape individual behaviour. Her curiosity about brain function drives her interest in exploring the mechanisms underlying cognition and the unique factors that influence human behaviour. Her research experience includes working with MATLAB, PsychoPy, and E-Prime in neurological studies. She is particularly interested in cognitive processes and brain functions, combining her background in neuropsychology with technical skills to investigate the relationship between cognition and behaviour.
Saumya Jain, She/Her

Saumya Jain is a UX designer with a background in Product Design from ISDI Mumbai. Her work focuses on research-driven design for complex, high-stakes domains, bringing together empathy, systems thinking, and evidence-based approaches to create meaningful user experiences across healthcare, industrial tools, and emerging technologies. At the Behaviour-informed Design for Development (BiD4D) Lab, IIT Delhi, Saumya contributed to a collaborative research project with AIIMS Delhi exploring diagnostic complexity in emergency medicine. Her work included field observations, framework operationalisation, focus groups, and inter-coder reliability testing to better understand real-time clinical decision-making. She has also interned with Tata Power and designed mechanic-facing interfaces, applying research to develop practical, user-centred design solutions.
Sitar Punariya, He/Him
Ux Researcher | Tenure: May 2023 - Jul 2024
Sitar Punariya contributed to sponsored academic research on behaviour-informed UX design for energy conservation products. His work involved synthesizing over 250 published studies to map global UX and behavioural intervention patterns for household energy conservation. He applied the COM-B behaviour change model and design thinking frameworks to map over 40 Behaviour Change Techniques to actionable product design opportunities. His research translated user insights into UX and Agentic-AI design frameworks for sustained behaviour change, contributing to an academic paper and human-centred design guidelines adopted for a nationally funded product prototype targeting energy-saving behaviours in Indian households.
Rhea Mittal, She/Her

Rhea Mittal contributed to behavioural design research through a systematic literature review of over 200 peer-reviewed papers and behavioural design case studies. Her work focused on synthesizing insights to develop a structured behavioural categorization framework and identifying key behavioural design principles from academic literature. She analysed qualitative data to develop methods for identifying, categorizing, and documenting human behaviours, while facilitating weekly mentor reviews to present findings and refine the research direction. She also organized and delivered processed research data in a structured, archive-ready format for future use by the lab.
